Are you a talented actor in Kampala, passionate about film and committed to your craft? Well, we are looking for you. We are working on the first season of a 10-episode TV series titled “Tatu Taps on Love”. We are casting for various roles and looking for main and support cast who will help give us just as many laughs. Actors and comedians at all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Production starts on 27th October 2025 and will run for a month. The deadline for submission of the monologues is 24th of October. If selected for any role you must be available on a full-time basis.
Application Process
STEP 1: If you have prior acting experience or samples of your comedy, send us a link to your acting demo, or a bio. Please do not send trailers as these do not demonstrate your ability to act.
On addition to your demo, we require you to record yourself performing the monologue below. Please note that the show is a comedy, so we are eager to cast good actors who have a great sense. Avoid disguises, and do not edit the monologue, and let your natural talent shine through. Use your phone. Find the monologue below. We will disregard any application that does not use this monologue.
STEP 2: Upload your performance to Google Drive, but make sure to enable sharing, “anyone with a link can view”, or to YouTube, but make sure it is unlisted and not publicly available.
STEP 3: Complete this Google Form to submit your application. Please note that we do not accept applications via WhatsApp or email.
STEP 4: Selected actors will be invited for further discussion, or for an audition. Only successful applicants will be contacted. We will contact actors and comedians on a rolling basis, so the earlier you submit, the quicker we reach a decision.

Characters for Tatu Taps on Love
Tatu (Main role, female, 25-29 years) Tatu is an ambitious young woman, who is a loan officer in a bank. She is a workaholic who has a tendency of doubting herself and her worth.
Karama (Main role, male, 30 to 35 years) Karama is a luxurious arrogant and self-centered bank manager who wants to end up as the CEO to cement his reputation as a leader. He and Tatu are not in good terms, they hate each other.
Omario (support role, male, 25-29 years) Tatu’s work colleague and confidant.

Look, this is a beautiful place. I met my first love under this very tree… I remember the first time we kissed, right here… It’s one of my best memories. It kept me alive for it reminded me that one sweet day I would unite with my love.
And then I come, and find you with a rope on your neck, dangling from a branch. And I cut you down, and now I’ve tied you up in a sack. You are angry with me because instead of letting you die, I saved your life and tied you up like a goat. So, you are asking yourself, where is this mad person taking me?
Hmm, I’m an angel. God sent you to die here. In fact, the moment I saw you, I knew you were dying for a love you cannot get. Wasn’t it because of love that you wanted to commit suicide? She rejected you and it hurts so much that you want to kill yourself. Isn’t that what happened? My friend, it’s a miracle. God sent you to me because I can help you get that love.
There’s a man called Kuku. He has a special medicine. A love potion. Kanambeya. If you use it on any girl, any woman, she’ll love you with all her heart.
It’s my job. I work for Kuku. I find for him clients and he gives me a commission. So, when I saw you, in that very expensive valentine suit, I said to myself, this rich man needs kanambeya. Being rich, he’ll pay Kuku very well, and I’ll get a very good commission. Enough money for me to leave that house which people use as a toilet and rent a nice, little hut in a beautiful village by the lakeside…. But I stink. Even after saving your life, you wouldn’t let me talk to you, so I had to kidnap you. Sorry, but I had to grab the chance to get a nice commission and rent a hut…
Look, I didn’t always smell like this. Someone bewitched me and I started to stink. My love tried to live with me, but, eh, the smell was too much. Even my own children could not spend more than a minute near me…. So that’s why I live like this, like a mad person. That’s my story.
So, do you want this love potion? Well, I can’t force you. Maybe you no longer love this woman. If so, let me leave you alone. I’m going to untie you and remove you from this sack. If you want, you can go on and kill yourself, but not from here. But if you want another chance at love, follow me. Let me take you to kuku, and all your problems will end. What will it be?
