Sisi Film Collective is holding a 10-month long film training in Kampala. Participants are required to make short films regularly, and we are expecting to make about thirty shorts by October 2024. We are thus looking for actors. Beginners are very welcome to test the waters. While we will only provide transport and meals for actors in these short films, we expect to make three short films in October were actors will be paid. On addition, we are working in collaboration with Dilstories, who are planning to shoot a TV Series in November-December 2024. Therefore, promising talent who we work with in this training will be considered for roles in both the short films and the TV series.
Application Process:
STEP 1: If you have prior acting experience but would like to grow your career, send us a link to your acting demo, or a bio. Please do not send trailers as these do not demonstrate your ability to act.
If you do not have an acting demo, or if you are a beginner, then record yourself performing a monologue suitable, which you can find below. Avoid disguises, and do not edit the monologue, and let your natural talent shine through. Use your phone. Find the monologues below.
STEP 2: Upload your performance to Google Drive, but make sure to enable sharing, “anyone with a link can view” or to Youtube, but make sure it is unlisted and not publicly available.
STEP 3: Complete this Google Form to submit your application. Please note that we do not accept applications via WhatsApp or email.
STEP 4: Selected actors will be invited for further discussion, or for an audition. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
There is no deadline. We will consider each application the moment it comes through, and whenever there is a short film, we will give you a call if you have potential.
